Launch of EU4OceanObs communication campaign on understanding and monitoring marine biology and ecology, with spotlight on the European Marine Biological Resource Centre (EMBRC), to better protect and restore marine environments and biodiversity, and ensure the sustainable use of marine resources.
With marine life playing such a pivotal role in ocean health and providing a host of benefits for the planet people, data on life below the surface can help drive informed decision-making. Across the European UnionU, research infrastructure, large-scale research projects, and intergovernmental initiatives are harnessing marine life data observations for a healthier ocean future.
The workshop will present e-shape project’s pilots related to biodiversity and water management.
The second phase of the EU4OceanObs project (2023 – 2027) is funded under the European Union’s Horizon Europe research and innovation programme through a contribution agreement between the European Research Executive Agency and Mercator Ocean International. The initial project (2021 to 2023) was funded through the Partnership Instrument managed by the European Commission’s Service for Foreign Policy Instruments and implemented by Mercator Ocean International.
