An official side event of the UN Ocean Conference 2022
Call for Expressions of Interest
The event is addressed to non-specialists and member states representatives in order to advocate the necessity of a global sustained Integrated Marine Debris Observing System (IMDOS) that will work hand in hand with the UNEP Global Partnership on Marine Litter (GPML) to support the development of the GPML Digital Platform. Close collaboration between IMDOS and UNEP GPML will indeed ensure access to harmonized and integrated data on marine litter and plastic pollution to a wide range of stakeholders.
The full day event includes an official side event of the UN Ocean Conference, plenaries, panel discussions, luncheon dialogues, technologies presentations and demonstrations followed by a social event. More information and detailed agenda will shortly be found on our webpage. No UN Official accreditation is needed to attend this event.
The event will be only upon invitation, as our space will be restricted to 100 attendees due to covid-19 restrictions. However, if you wish to attend, fill this form and we will let you know as soon as possible and at least 2 weeks prior the event if we will be able to welcome you. We specially encourage those interested in setting up an on-site live demonstration related to marine debris observations at the Cascais Marine to reach out to us with a proposal. Please indicate that in the form below as well.
No online participation will be possible, however the plenary sessions will be broadcasted live via the GEO Blue Planet Youtube channel.
Please note that there will be no travel support for participants.
